Improving my Polish Language skills
Almost ten years ago, I began learning Polish, and I’ve been living in Poland for just over four years now. I'm mostly fluent, though I lack the depth of knowledge and experience to express myself in ways I would like to. Soon I will be able to apply for Polish citizenship, but I won’t get citizenship without improving my written Polish skills. I work in English apart from oral communication, so it’s not something I’ve been training recently. Now I see a way I can begin writing consistently by translating my blog posts into Polish and posting them below the English text. I will use pen, paper, and a dictionary. Then I will type it up on the computer, writing each post in Polish twice, improving my physical writing skills, typing skills, and getting double the time writing in Polish for each post. No AI, which goes without saying because it's too easy to cheat. To hold myself accountable, I will post a photo of the original paper version for all to see, proving that I’m really doing this. When I think I’ve done my best, I will consult a Polish native on the correctness and understand my errors. I’m excited about this idea, and I think it will serve as a fun, though challenging alternative to forcing myself to write some random text in Polish.
